The 2024 NBA All-Star weekend will culminate with the much-awaited NBA All-Star game starring the best of the West and the East conferences.

After last year's Salt Laker City in 2023, the premier event will head to Indianapolis, where the two teams led by LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will look to go toe-to-toe against each other.

Like the past, the roster features a slew of newcomers who will be regular features in years to come. This season's All-Star weekend also features the return of the familiar All-Star game format.

According to the league's site, the All-Star Game will not have an untimed fourth quarter or conclude when one of the teams reaches a required target. Instead, they will continue to compete to win each quarter for a charitable organization they choose.

All of the NBA's 30 coaches selected the reserves for the game, while commissioner Adam Silver picked the replacement for any player unable to participate in the marquee weekend.

In related news, Trae Young and Scottie Barnes have been named as replacements for Joel Embiid and Julius Randle.

Ahead of the Sunday main event, the teams have already hit a practice session, and here's a quick primer about the game.

How to watch 2024 NBA All-Star Game? Time, TV Channel & Live Streaming for main event

The 73rd annual 2023 NBA All-Star game will be nationally televised on TNT, and will be live streamed on Sling.

The streamer offers a wide range of channels including TNT, NFL Network, ESPN, TBS and FS1. In the US, the 2024 NBA All-Star Game coverage begins at 6 p.m. ET. Tip-off of the NBA All-Star Game is slated for 8 p.m. ET.

TV broadcast: TNT

Streaming: Sling

The Western Conference will be led by LeBron James, alongside Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic.

The Eastern conference starters are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Haliburton.

The reserve list for both teams are as follows:

East: Bam Adebayo, Paolo Banchero Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Maxey, Donovan Mitchell.

West: Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Karl-Anthony Towns.

Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers will lead the Eastern conference, while Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch will man the sidelines for the West.

The league also selected the officiating crew for the contest. The referee trio comprises Tony Brothers, Josh Tiven, Derrick Collins.

It's official -- Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu will face off at the NBA's All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis on Feb. 17. "Stephen vs. Sabrina," as the contest is being called, will be the first-ever NBA vs. WNBA 3-point challenge, the league announced on Tuesday. It is set to take place between the NBA's 3-Point Contest and Slam Dunk Contest on All-Star Saturday Night. The events that night will begin at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.

Over the past several months, the groundwork has been laid for the two shooting stars to face off in one final contest. Ionescu challenged Curry to a shooting contest on X, formerly known as Twitter, last July, and Curry indicated that he was up for the challenge.

"I gotta go after Sabrina's record," Curry said on ESPN at the time. "I've got something to shoot for now that she went crazy with the 37 points in their All-Star weekend. We've got to settle that for sure to see who's the best three-point competition shooter."

Well, the two shooters finally their wish.

The event will use standard 3-Point Contest rules, though Curry will use an NBA ball and NBA 3-point lines, while Ionescu will use a WNBA ball and WNBA 3-point lines. Each shot they make along the way will also raise money for "economic empowerment in the Black community." Each regular 3-pointer will be worth $1,000, each money ball $2,000 and each "STARRY Range Ball" -- a deep shot worth three points -- $3,000.

Who do you think owns the record for most points ever scored in a round at a professional 3-point contest? The obvious guess would be Curry, the Golden State Warriors legend and greatest shooter in NBA history. True, he's won the NBA's 3-point contest twice (2015 and 2021), but his best round ever pales in comparison to another.

The catch is that it didn't come in the NBA.

The all-time record for most points scored in a round at a 3-point contest belongs to New York Liberty guard Ionescu, who notched 37 points in July's WNBA 3-point contest.

The NBA's All-Star Weekend hasn't held quite the same appeal in recent years. The game is moving back to an East vs. West format after the experiment of having players draft their own teams failed. The dunk contest was losing interest as well before G-Leaguer Mac McClung won it last season.

Now, the NBA has another novel event to look forward to in Indianapolis. The NBA and WNBA's 3-point champions will face off for the ultimate shooting trophy.

INDIANAPOLIS — The NBA’s best and brightest have gathered together in the basketball-loving Hoosier state for the 73rd annual NBA All-Star Game.

Who are the NBA All-Star Game Coaches?

This year’s All-Star Game coaches are:

Western Conference: Chris Finch, Minnesota Timberwolves.

Eastern Conference: Doc Rivers, Milwaukee Bucks. Rivers has only coached the last 10 games for the Bucks (3-7), but before he arrived, now-fired coach Adrian Griffin and the Bucks amassed the second-best record in the East, and the team held that spot under Rivers through the cutoff date, so the Milwaukee coach got the job. That’s Rivers. However, Rivers said he was giving the money he gets for coaching the game, and the All-Star ring, to Griffin. (The Celtics had the best record in the East, however, Joe Mazzulla coached the All-Star team last year and NBA rules prevent a coach from doing consecutive years.)

The NBA All-Star Game MVP award is named after Kobe Bryant — a four-time winner of the award in 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011 — just a couple of weeks after his tragic passing in 2020.

The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will get back to basics on Sunday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. In addition to being played in Indianapolis for the first time since 1985, the 2024 NBA All-Star Game will also return to the traditional conference versus conference format the league abandoned in 2020.
